I received a copy of 'Early Edition' last week and read that childminders have to pay a yearly registration fee of £35 to register for Data Protection with the Information Commissioners Office. That is to cover us as we take photos of children and print them off. It counts whether we print them ourselves or go to a shop. It also covers all electronic processing such as the use of memory sticks. I really didn't know this but appaarently it is a legal requirement. :panic: What next?

i registered 2 years ago. I didn't want to leave myself exposed so would rather be covered than not, plus I now do obs and reports on the computer too.

£35 is not a lot per year for peace of mind. I think of it in bottles of wine so only 7:laughing:   7 less I've drunk this year.:D
