thank you! although looking at it briefly I think I WILL be excluding for a few more conditions than they actually advise you to.

yep, use it as a guideline but its your buisness so you can decide how you wish to run it and put exclusions in place as you see fit.

Thank you. Just printing it up :)

Interesting to see that there is no recommended time off for conjunctivitis yet it's one of the most contagious diseases...

I always hear people say how contagious it is, but I've never found that. My mindee had it a few months back. I didn't exclude her, school didn't exclude her, but no one else here got it, no one else in her class got it & no one else in her family got it. And whenever anyone else in my family has had it, no one else has - perhaps were just very lucky!

you know I thought that as well :) ...but since I printed off these guidelines I have been looking around at the information available and it seems to show that current policy is no exclusion unless there is an outbreak in a setting ie several cases.
Thinking back to when my own children have had it in the past, no-one else in the family ever got it. it would spread from one eye to the other so both eyes were affected but not usually to other members of the family.......
of course if it is an allergic conjunctivitis it is unlikely to spread from person to person as it is an individual response, but if it is bacterial, cross infection seems so much more likely..............mmmm.......what to do????
