any ideas how i cud teach young girl english who from latvia ne suggestions be greatx

just make sure you offer a language rich environment - so lots of telling her what you are doing all the time , narrating her play , lots of songs and rhymes etc. she will soon pick up some ! Maybe also consider signing alongside your words?

Agree with Kath above but also ask for support from speech and language therapist

Ask mum to learn you some basic words and use them both :)

I agree with mamma2three, children respond well to speach and sign combined whether english is their first language or not :laughing:

How about flash cards (age dependant) with the word written on in both languages?

i don't think it's a case of teaching her it's more making things easier for her :blush: you'd be surprised how quickly children pick up other languages:thumbsup: i'd try learning a few words of her language to help things a little bit xx
