I've just started planning for an Elmer theme following an interest in colours and animals. I would appreciate some more ideas from that may have done this previously. Most of my mindees are 2 and under.
So far I have.
Read Elmer book with soft toy.
Play Elmer colour game
Colour Elmer pictures
Make Elmer out of a milk bottle (thanks Pauline)
Talk about other Elephants (Dumbo, large family and real pictures)
Make a large Elmer for a wall display

If anyone has any other ideas I would really appreciate them.
Thank you x

For slightly older children you could look at African and Indian elephants, how do they differ?

look at different elmer books!

there are lots! we have a numbers one, and one called 'elmers new friend' with a mirror in the back. we also have a few that have elmers cousin wilbur in !!!

maybe you could then talk about/do activities on numbers, friends, etc?

Click on fruit recipes and you should find them.

you could bring sensory into the art using different coloured and textured squares of material to make a mosaic elmer.

I like the elephant pancakes. A trip to see elephants if not too far to a zoo, or use the internet or dvd to watch elephants in the wild.

if it's not too late don't forget the You Tube 'Make It' channel, I have an Elmer make it on there!
