New to childminding - Husband as an assistant

Hiya im new to childminding and was just wondering. If you wanted your hubby to be your assistant (just to do the morning school run) does he have to go through the whole childminding registration process ie. ICP. policies etc? Thanks

Hi Emma

No he doesn't. If he is going to be alone with the children he must do the First Aid course, but he doesn't have to do any others. :)

You have to complete a form, EY2, it is available to download from the free resources at the top of the Forum and then Ofsted will contact you about his registration as your assistant. :)

He must not work as your assistant until you have the specific wording on your certificate.

As long as he has a CRB, First Aid Training (and for good practice, Safeguarding children)... completed his EY2 and been cleared by OFSTED... Oh and you get parents to sign to give their consent to him being in sole charge, you are fine :laughing:

oh id never herd this ..............so far have needed no help from partner . do i just contact them for prices ?
