 But I don't.

If a child falls and bangs their head whilst we are out what do I do? What I mean is if we are at home I would apply a cold compress but obviously can't do that if we are out so other than comforting them and keeping an eye on them what do I do? Mindee this morning fell over in the school playground, (he's not a school child just with me on the school run), no bleeding but a mark on his forehead where he hit it. I carry a small first aid kit with me with wipes, plasters etc etc in but obviously can't carry a cold compress. So what should I do?

find the nearest toilet and wet some tissue in cold water and apply and keep an eye and go home or to where you are going

hope it helps

You can buy cold compresses. They are these pouches which you press together and they crack, kinda like the glow sticks, where you click them to make the colour. After they are cracked they are freezing cold and can be used as a cold compress.

You can find them here

I've got something similar and they are useful - or they would be if the child would keep them on their head!

Hope the little one is OK

I've got a cold compress in my travel first aid kit - doesn't take up hardly any space. I've not had to use it so far (hope I've not tempted fate saying that!). Failing that, just make do with what's available - someone suggested tissue and cold water, nowt wrong with that :)

Once, my own son had a really runny nose and I had nothing with me (can't remember why!) so I used a leaf off the tree!!!! Now that's what I call going back to nature! LOL.
