how would you approch this?????

I have a new mindee who started last week and on the first day i noticed that one of lo's legs and foot turn in. I've been watching it for a week but i'm not sure weather i should say something to mum.

When lo started mum never mentioned anything about this. The trouble is i dont see mum, i only ever see dad and sister!!

How do i approch this???

Could you incorporate it into an observation?
Maybe monitor it a bit longer, see if different shoes etc. make a difference. Once you get to know parents a bit better it might become easier to mention to them? Certainly if you think it's affecting the child's ability/development in any way you should probably mention it.

I would ask Dad for a chat hon. it's quite a common problem in younger children. maybe got missed and so not corrected. It might be something easilyh fixable or that will self-correct but I would suggest that they visit GP to get checked out.:)

I had a little one who's leg n foot turned in and at first because she was only 10 mths and had just started walking we put it down to her shoes.
But 12 mths on, mum has just been told she has a mild form of cerebral palsy.
Not saying it's the same as your little one, but I would just mention it to mum.
What you have noticed.

it's the same wth shoes on or off and diffrent shoes.
I just thought mum would have mentioned it on the enrolment forms.
I just dont no how to word it.

This is so strange................

my sons has a very turned in foot


he is 21 now fantastic at sport its all he ever does (even his job now)

and not once in his life have I ever mentioned his turned in foot ?

I presume people notice as he has a funny walk, but nobody has ever
referred to it (well I say that but a swimming teacher once said he swims
funny!)
