Over 8's Question

Hi all,

My certificate says
'May care for no more than 4 children under 8years'

Does this mean, on the day of their 8th birthday they are no longer counted in your numbers?

Sorry if this is a really obvious question.

Also, do you have to inform Ofsted how may over 8s you have. I'm only planning on having 1 over 8.

that's how I took it. I got my certificate changed when ds turned 8 though you've just reminded me I didn't get it changed when dd turned 8 this year. Not a problem at the mo, as don't have more than 5 under 8's but just in case:thumbsup:

you don't need to inform ofsted about how many over 8's you just need to ensure they don't impact on the care you can give the under 8's and under 5's.:)
