Just wondering if anyone has the Really Useful Boxes storage system?

Looking at this one but only using 7 boxes rather than the 10: http://www.reallyusefulproducts.co.uk/uk/html/onlineshop/rub/rChrome1bay18.php

Not for toys but I do have lots of various sizes for my own cardmaking/scrapbooking stuff.

The boxes are strong with good fitting lids. Got some from here

also from local stationers

I use these boxes for all my own stuff. My kids have the huge boxes for all their keepsafes. I have photos filled to the brim and other special stuff, they are great!

I don;t like using plastic though for the kids, as when my ds was 2 he stood on a box (not these ones) and cut his foot as it broke under him:panic:  really I know he shouldn;t be on it!

the link you posted states you can buy more chrome shevles to build it higher.

I think i would be inclined to create 2 sets of 5 high rather than 10 high for 2 reasons. I am short and stability ensuring it does not topple on a child if they decide to lean/pull/push or help themselves.

They are on there now, take a look http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/search/?query=trofast I think they must have been updating the site.

I already have the trofast towers in my rat shed. I rang a few stores up to ask about the system and was told that they are discontinuing it!

So maybe they will or maybe they won't, who knows with Ikea.

I thought the trofast tower would be too tall for children (are they suppose to be able to choose?) and I couldn't have lots of the little ones as I don't have the space for them

I agree the tower ones would be too tall for little ones to self select toys but there are other ways they can decide what they want - photographs in an album they can choose from for example.

They are discontinuing parts of it , then maybe the rest, Just spoke to an online operator, they said to check your local store for stock and they are replacing it with the Stuva range.

Don't like nearly as much as the trofast units - doesn't look as versatile to me

Think I might be going on a shopping trip to Ikea - I prefer the trofast units!

I had the same issue as all of you in respect of storage both for my childminding toys and also my kids toys. Having seen something I like online, I looked on ebay and found the same unit on an auction starting at £14.99 plus £8.00 postage. The unit is an L shape wooden unit that holds 6 large stacking boxes within 6 cubes and also giving you 3 platforms on top for toys - must say its one of the best purchases i've recently made!

I just typed in wooden storage units on ebay and it brought this one up.
