How much do you pay an assistant?

My neice will be joining me in the Autumn, mainly to see if she wants to register herself.

I want to pay her as it will be for at least 6 months but not sure how much?

if you are employing your niece I believe you have to pay minimum wage.

I'm not sure though - I'd check with IR self employment if I were you :D

If she is working more than 15hrs and she is over 18yrs then you pay the min wage and paid min number od days holiday and paid sickness and you will need to do a pay slip and pay Tax and NI for her. As Sarah said check with IR
