Can someone point me in the right direction to a thread on here that has a long list of all the things childminders do. I want to print it out and send to the local job center whose staff (dh not included) keep telling parents to become chilminders as it is easy money and not a lot is involved. I'm sick of them making our profession seem trivial and I want to show the exactly what it is we do.

 Are they having a laugh? I've had some high flying jobs in the past but childminding is the hardest job I've had both physically and mentally. Easy Money???? NO WAY

Btw I like to see this list. It'd have to be written on a VERY big piece of paper

I like that job description, but I would definately add that the first aid course, and the safeguarding courses are in your own time and unpaid and in my area the first aid course has to be paid for by the CM and its about £100 and how you have to jump through hoops to keep Mrs O happy, lack of family time and how it encroaches on your home and life.

Sorry a bit fed up today

  the cc staff are supposed to be there to support minders not undermine them. Those parents will be in for a shock.

Or maybe the staff are trying to work on childcare sufficiency in the area and bump up the numbers by conning parents:laughing:  seriously though - they really should know better.
