We've done our emerald vales and they look similar to yours, gonna leave the others a while longer. Just had some for lunch and they were tasty! Kids loved the fact that they had 'made their own food':clapping:

We did ours yesterday as we planted a day early too so everyone had a chance to participate (Monday is the one day everyone was here ) I have had a bit of competition going with the under 5's planting rocket and the over 5's schoolies planting the emerald vale. Results were really interesting

Rocket produced only 27potatos but they weighed 1290gms wheras Emerald vale produced 62 potatoes but they were smaller and weighed only 1110gms

You should have seen the reaction from my after schoolies having thought they had soundl won only to see the weights!

Declared it a draw and gave them all some to take home so everyone was happy :D

Have yet to have our paltry share of the goods but they all want to do it again next year so we will see. We did say if there was not a specific date to harvest we would have left them longer.

I dug mine a few days early due to being battered by weather

I weigh in lbs  but converting it to metric made 2950g altogether. One plant left, to see if I get some a bit bigger

last year I didn't dig mine up until August time. I pulled a few when they flowered but they were tiny (not much bigger than peas). So I left them another two months and they were lovely new potato size

Haven't done mine yet, the leaves have gone all floppy I have had to tie them up with strings :(
May have a peep tomorrow with the little boy who planted them if tiny will leave a little longer.

We have dug ours up and we had 1975grms of Vale Emerald (various sizes) and 1550grms (mainly large ones) of the Rocket. The kids had a great time as did Carolyn's 19yr old son
Are we supposed to register these weights with the Potato Council? If so how ?

Mine never got planted - found them under a pile of other stuff waiting for me to sort, they'd gone a bit soft and yucky so I binned them.

Just harvested one of ours this morning, the 'vales emerald' ones. The little ones thought it was great digging for treasure in the soil and they tasted gorgeous when we cooked them for lunch. Still got to harvest the rocket ones. The plants are still quite small (in comparison to the other ones) because they really got checked back by frosts in April and May.

We only got about 1kg though a bit disappointing.
