OOPS, just found this heading, sorry blonde moment.... I was wandering if any of the childminders who recieved Outstanding at their inspection actually marked themselves as Outstanding on their SEF, or did you play it safe with good?

I said good - which is where i honestly thought i was . i knew i 'went the extra mile' and so wouldnt have said satisfactory , but couldnt say 'outstanding' for my first inspection. There were still lots of things i wanted to improve on , still are!

I graded myself as outstanding in the areas that they said I was last time and good for the rest. Did'nt want to push my luck. I went through my last report and used the information to back up my reasons for grading myself.

I gave myself Outstanding in all areas and proved it on the day. I found the SEF quite easy to do and still regularly update it even though my inspection has been and gone. I think SEF's are brill.
