Hi all,
Thought I would share with you my first insepction day and tips and hopefully give something back to you fantastic people!
Ok well here goes- My Inspector arrived at 1.00 this afternoon. I asked to see her ID then let her in, introduced her to the children and asked her to sign the visitors log. I had all my paperwork already lined out on the table and she said that she would look at this first and then have a chat.
So I sat playing with the children for about an hour and 15 mins. She had a look around the house and yard and asked to see my first aid box. As the children were eating snack she asked me 2 questions- how do I teach the children to keep themselves safe in the house? and What type of ICT resources do I have for the different age groups?
And that was it!!!!!! She was only here for 1hr and 45! And the reason for that is- I had submitted a huge and very detailed SEF. She said it was very good and covered almost evrything which is the reason that she did not have to ask me many questions.
The result being I got.................................... an overall good (provisionally). I nearly got an outstanding in one aspect but some surgical tape in my first aid box was out of date!!!! I could have kicked myself!!!!
So to everyone who has given me advice in the past thank-you, and to everyone who is expecting a visit soon my advice is do a full SEF and check your first aid box!:)
