Mindees 1st birthday approaching - what would you do?

I would usually have a little birthday lunch - pressie etc but with a 1 yr old what should I do as not as aware as the others.

Also pressent ideas?

i had a childminder friend bring her 10 month old daughter and her with my three under threes we had a lunch of sandwiches, salad and cake. We had balloons and a banner. After lunch we did a sort of pass the parcel and the ones who liked to play that loved the paper ripping. One LO just sat opening and shutting the dolls house door as usual. i took lots of pics and put them on a cd for mummy.
I bought him a set of skittles from wilkos....we have the same set here and he gets very excited when it appears. His mum and dad were amamzed by his reaction when they got home and opened it!!

We do a little party for all our mindees. Just have finger food and get an age appropriate pressie for them to take home from everyone in te setting.

As Mick does, except for the first birthday I ask the parents to come half an hour before pick up and do it with them there as well.
