175g/6oz butter or margarine
150g/5oz soft brown sugar
110g/4oz golden syrup
75g/3oz chopped mixed nuts or sunflower seeds
75g/3oz cornflakes
175g/6oz rolled oats
Set oven to 190 C/Gas 5, line an 20cm x 20cm tin with greaseproof paper.
Melt butter and sugar together with syrup - do not boil.
Stir in remaining ingredients away from heat, spoon mixture into tin and spread out. Bake for 20 mins.
Remove from oven, allow to cool for 2-3 mins and then cut into fingers
Leave to cool in the tin. Separate when cold.
We melt some chocolate and dip half the cooled flapjack into it and leave it to set
