what a cheek!!!

something similar happened to my ex husband. When my husband had left the army his mate asked him to give him a recommendation/reference to join the army.

After less than 5 weeks this guy had knocked out his sgt and had gone awol.

we found all this out when the MPs and civvie bobbies came knocking on our door at the crack of dawn to ask us questions about him. We had no idea he had gone awol.

So to say no is the best thing to do.....it will come back and bite you on the :censored: !

I actually feel sorry for her.Alot of property landlords expect others to guarantee they will get their rent.My nephew when starting out with his partner and baby had to ask my step dad to be guarantor. This was because they were just 18.They both worked but this wasn't acceptable. They needed some one who had been in employment for a long time and had a current bank account! Sounds like this mum asked you as she had no one else to ask :(

Like you I'd also say NO Way but I can't help feeling sorry for her.

Glad you said no. If she didn't pay they would chase you for the arrears and could take you to court. It happened to me with a family member. A very expensive mistake!!!!!
