I've just received a list of local courrses and need to do some EYFS training. Can I just go on the Observation, assessment and record keeping course, or do I need to go on the Introduction to EYFS first?
Thanks
Elaine

You will be able to order the EYFS pack direct from dfes who are the Govt publishers... I haven't got the address immediately to hand but there's no point hunting for it just now as the pack is out of print...

They are doing revisions and these will be available soon (ish, they said January and they've not materialised yet... they're now saying April I think)...

I would go to the introduction course if it's all new to you... it goes through what's in the pack etc... some areas are making this compulsory anyway...

Hope this helps :D

It was compulsory in my area to go on the course although I think lots of childminders here are trying to ignore it from the sounds of it. At the end of the day they can't actually force you to go!

The training seems to vary so much from area to area but if it is all new to you then I agree with Sarah go for the introduction and then see what else you need from there - although i have heard that this is no more than reading through the pack so it might be good to speak to someone who's done it first before you book it

It was compulsory in my area so had to go but I am glad I went and it did explain things.

It made things more clearer for me.
