When we had our initial visit from the local council one of the recommendations was to "secure the guinea pig hutch". Now the hutch has the usual wire mesh on the front and bolts on the doors. What else can we possibly do. Will a RA be sufficient??

Got pre-reg visit on 7/6 so need to get it sorted ASAP.

Can the guinea pig get out?

Can the children get in?

If the answer to either of these is yes, then it needs to be more secure... maybe with a lock and key?

:D

apparantley guinea pigs are the only animal that don't pass on any diseases to humans (I read it somewhere, don't ask me where).

I dont have a lock on my guinea hutch or on my rabbit one (indoor bunny) and its never been questioned. The kids are taught not to open it and thats enough as far as I am concerned

I have a padlock on my chicken run as my own daughters just can't resist collecting the eggs.
