Hi everyone :)

I'm on the ECaT project (Every child a talker) and have been asked to consider developing some music activities - I'm learniing to play the guitar but - NO WAY experienced in music activities for Early years:eek: We do the puppets/ props in song bags and tap with sticks - but I'm not sure what else to add.
There's not much online for music in the early years either. I did find a resource pack called First Notes and it was published in Lincolnshire (I'm over in East Anglia!) Has anyone seen it - any good? It's for sale at £30.00 but all linked to the pre-EYFS frameworks so I'm not sure if I really want to buy it. No one is replying to my emails at the listed contact address either:(
Can anyone help? Have you seen it? Could I borrow it? I could contact a surestart centre in that area but I don't think they'll lend it to me over here!

Anyone got any ideas please?

If it is the one I think it is then it would be worth the money. The one I am thinking of was by sound lincs or early ears I think. It is a great little pack with loads of ideas and info linked to all areas of development. Unfortunately mine is packed because I am moving house :( . Maybe you could contact soundlincs and see if they will come to an arrangement with you.
It is a great pack.

I would keep trying soundlincs, they are usually very responsive and fantastic people, very nice.
I had a quick look and found these sites:

http://www.abchomepreschool.com/Music/PreschoolMusicActivities.htm

you might be able to get some guidance from them. I found the best search term was introducing music to preschoolers, if that is any help.
Good luck, music is a very worth while activity to spend time on, it can teach so much.

I have attended a couple of music courses led by Jessica Pitt who was very motivated and full of great ideas. GOOGLE her for more info. :)

Hi there! I hope this link works!! My husband is a Primary School Music Co-ordinator. Yes I know rare and a male! Anyway I asked him last night what he uses for school and he has emailed this info hope it is helpful.

Voiceplay (OUP) – part of the Voiceworks series – available widely
Singing Games & Rhymes for Tiny Tots (from www.nycos.co.uk – look under Publications)
Have a look at www.acblack.com and go to Music then down to Early Years
