our council does them too I think, but we have brown bins for compostable waste so I just use that as we wouldn't use the compost ourselves

We got a free compost bin from our council several years ago but would love a water butt so will look into that.

Just be careful how you treat the compost - I had a severe allergic reaction to a fungus that was growing in our compost bin - it was a pretty unusual thing to happen but I wouldn't have one ever again.
