Hi all hope you can help-
have been approached to help a new mummy in her home to look after her twins, couple of hours a day could anybody advise on what to charge? I know a nanny in the area charges £5 per hour but dont want to overcharge and put her off. I would like to do it as it would make a change to work outside my 4 walls lol

thanks in advance
Julie

What sort of help is she expecting; are they light domestic duties, visits/driving etc
There are two children involved, are you expected to do specific activities

I would say £5 per hour for a nanny is quite cheap but I don't know your area and the prices.

don't forget that if she is 'employing' you then she will be paying your NI and tax so take this into account

if I had them here I'd be charging £4/hour each so at least £8/hour hon

Nannies around here charge £8 an hour regardless of how many children.

Are you not childminding at the moment?

Make sure you get it clear what your duties would be, could be that she wants you to care for the babies while she rests or shemight want you to do the housework etc while she looks after the little ones.
