I had a mum come round yesterday for a pick-up from school. She said her OH would pick up mindee between 5 - 5.30 and would I round-up the fees if she gets picked-up at 5.00. I charge £5 per hour for afterschoolers so if she was picked up at 5 I would earn £7.50! I said i charge for a minimum of 2hours a days for before and after school as they are taking up a space. Not sure if I will hear from her again as she couldn't get her head round it.

I have a minimum charge of 2 hrs after school otherwise I would have some parents use me because they are too lazy to do the pick up themselves or not want to stand in the pouring rain:rolleyes:

I had a parent who said she wouldn't pay for this and that and also if she picked up early etc....... I Just say 'my fees are non-negotiable!'

I have 2 sets of parents charged to 5:30pm, they are often here before 5pm, but both wanted to book later incase of delays (they should be at work till 5pm lol) I know I am very lucky with this!

Then my 6:30pm, never goes early:(

one of my mums is a nurse she pays for 3hrs for her 2 children to stay until 6pm but usually picks up at 4.45pm.....it's just in case she is held up:)

I charge a set fee of £10 for after school until 6pm no matter what time they are picked up, tonight for example i collect D from school at 3.15pm, get back to mine for 3.30pm and mum will collect at 3.45pm  as she finishes work at 3.30pm on a friday other days he is collected at 5pm

Don't let them dictate to you what you should be charging!

Sounds a fair charge to me. I charge for 2hrs after school whether they pick up early or not. One of my parents picked up at 5 until she realised she was paying until 5.30 anyway so she decided to leave her child here until then and she told me exactly that as well
