hi i was wondering if anybody had any advice in which was the best on to do the nvq3 or the diploma in homebased childcare
thanks
I've decided to do the NVQ3 as the other one is specific to childminding and I may wish to work with children outside the home at some point in the future so thought the NVQ3 might prove more useful.

There was another thread recently - I understand that both are being replaced shortly

they will be but I did the old version of the DHC (CCP as it was then). I used that to get onto my foundation degree. At the end of the day now we all work to the same standards (EYFS) whether in nursery, school or home so I dont' think it would really matter and the new qualificaiton will probably reflect that when it starts.

i'd say do the NVQ as like everyone else has said you can use it in anyother childcare setting
