My prospectus says basically the same as my website. I usually give parents my webite address now and it saves on printing. The link is below if you want to have a look.

Hi

I know it's a bit lengthy but I got this off a website - not sure which but I'm sure someone on here recommended it - I used this list as a guide but didn't put absolutely everything in that it mentioned

Your portfolio would be a good place to store the following documents:

• Legal Insurance Certificate (not compulsory)
• Registration Certificate
• Fire Safety Certificate
• Car MOT Certificate
• Car Insurance Details
• Car Seat Safety Certificate (from Trading Standards, not compulsory)
• Example Record of Information
• Example Contract
• Example Parent Permission for Transport Form
• Example form for Permission to administer Non Prescription Medicines
• Example form for Permission for Emergency Treatment
• Planning Permission Documents
• Environmental Health Reports
• Equipment Maintenance Records
• Gas and Electrical Safety Checks
• NCMA Quality Standards (if member)
Policies
Your portfolio could also contain copies of your policies on:
• Behavior Management
• Disease Exclusion and Sick Children
• Equal Opportunities
• Special Needs
• Fees
• Collection of Child
• Accident and Emergency Procedures
• Smoking
• Smacking
• Health, Hygiene and Safety
• Nutrition
• Daily Routines
• Settling Children In
• Provision of Basic Play and other Activities
• Working in Partnership with Parents
• Child Protection
• Business Practice
• Confidentiality
NOTE: You may not have all of these policies, or several may be combined into one document.
Information
Your portfolio could also contain information on the Following:
• Example Menu
• Example Activities List
• Ages and Times When Present of Existing Children
• Useful Addresses and Telephone Contacts
• Child Protection Procedures
• References and Thank you Letters
Qualifications/Courses
Your portfolio could also contain certificates from, or a list of childminding related courses you have attended including:
• Child Protection Certificate
• First Aid Certificate
• Introducing Childminding Practice
• Special Needs Training
• NVQ/NNEB

Hope it helps.

O.M.G - That seems alot. I have a copy of my policies & procedures, a copy of my fees, my permission forms, a business card & a leaflet about me & my business. Thats about it really. :)

When they come to see me I have a file that includes my certificates, copies of menus, copies of house rules, copies of our daily routine & i show them example daily diaries. :)

Oopps - that is my folder at home - not that I would send out!!!

I haven't got a pack to send out as I always suggest to parent that we meet first, however I guess I should have something just incase.

I have a full portfolio like the one listed then a short introduction that I send parents away with, just listing opening and closing times, prices etc... :D

When parents contact me I send out an information pack that tells them about me and my background.

It also gives them a quick overview about my business as well as fees, opening times, animals that I have etc etc.

The idea is that the parent gets to know a little about me and the setting and if they still want to come and see me then they call me and arrange an appointment.

I find this stops them from wasting my time as I know they are well and truely serious about placing their child with me before they come and see me.

I then bombard them with all the other stuff when they come to see me :D

I got brochures printed from vistaprint, 25 for free. 1st page is all about me, family, experience, qualifications etc, next page is a typical day, then my aims and objectives and back page contact details. They get to see all my other stuff when they visit, and if they sign contracts they then get the whole lot!!!

Ali :)
