Now the lovely weather is here I'm thinking of re-vamping a few things in my garden..

am wondering what toys everyone else has in their garden and where you got it from?

which things do you find the kids love and which do they not really use?

Where do I start?

I have the following:

2 ride on tractors
2 ride on fire engines
3 tricycles
1 bike and 1 go kart
2 slides
3 rockers
2 small play houses and 1 large wooden house
loads of chairs, benches and seats, one with a parasol for shade sitting
balls, skittles, hoops and bean bags
large football net and ball
2 hoppers
1 sand tray and 1 water tray
have also got a small dolls house inside the wooden house
trucks, cars etc
blackboard and chalk

I would also bring out books and art/craft materials as necessary.

Only thing I am going to try and purchase is bean bags for the wooden house!

Mine are obsessed with sand at the moment, it is costing me a fortune replacing it all when it gets scattered around the garden!!!

We also love the slide and the trampoline. Tennis and skipping are also popular. I have a big plastic crate filled with bats, balls, skipping ropes, chalk, hoops etc that they love to have a good rummage through.

We're also enjoying planting lots of different seeds and watering them each day now it's sunny!

My advice is buy a few of everything if you can (spades, watering cans, etc) then everyone can join in.

There was a thread similar to this the other day and I remember reading Sarah saying that Ofsted like to see the garden as an extension of indoors ie you have similar things in the garden to what you have inside ie buggies fro dollies, home corner type area, books/reading corner etc.

I am in the process of revamping my garden and outdoor area and am going to try and take this on board. There are some toys I dont want taken out but most things can be washed at the end of the day.

I do already have:
large and small trampoline,
sand/water table,
various ride ons,
hula hoops (big fav at the mo with the LOs),
bench,
gazebo with sides,
large wooden play house (with play kitchen, sofa etc in),
table and stools
bubble machine

Hope that helps

I bought some plant spray type bottles today from Asda. My five year old DD and mindee played with them for almost two hours. They sprayed the play house windows, fences, plants, etc.

They come in a bright pink colour that is butterfly shaped and a dark blue flower shaped one. They are £1 each or 3 for £2 (can mix with other items such as grow your own seeds, wind socks, spinners).

They appear to be quite strong. DS and DD have had loads of water pistols but they always crack/split. I think these will last longer.

I've just bought a huge bubble wand. Thought it may not work or need special liquid.... but it really is amazing:clapping: :clapping:
bubbles are as big as a football at least and great fun:clapping:
I'm waiting on capital grant for north west area for some special outdoor equipment but it's not looking promising at the moment:( :(
