Does anyone have public liability insurance which is not NCMA or MM? I'm currently looking for the cheapest quote as mine is due for renewal next week and I can't afford the £73.60 which NCMA are asking for.

the insurance is £26 isnt it???? other bit is membership. my howminsurance offer it with mine for same price if you have childminder homeinsurance then ask them if they do public liability insurance as well. i just renewed with ncma and it cost me £67. unless they put it up after 1st april

They want £50 membership plus £23.50 insurance and you can't have the insurance without paying the membership fee. I really can't justify being a member anymore as I don't benefit from it

you can have the insurance without being a member.

Only MM or Ncma do childminder insurance as far as I am aware :D

I didn't know that, when I rang them a few weeks ago she told me I had to have membership to take advantage of the insurance. :( I went to MM again as I couldn't afford the NCMA price at the time. :o

I thought you had to be a member, there is no option on the renewal form for insurance only. I will ring them tomorrow to clarify but I'm pretty sure you can't have the insurance if you are not a member

rang NCMA today just to clarify the insurance situation and they said you definately have to be a member to have the insurance so it looks like I will be using MM

got mine through today

£50.00 membership with NCMA
then you add on
£23.60 for the insurance
£5.00 for employers liability cover if you have assistants but this is free if you need cover for students only, just tell them you offer work experience to students.

you can not have the insurance without the membership, dont forget you put this through your books, it comes out of your earnings.
