Amazon does a kit! they send you a net, once the net arrives you can send off for your caterpillars. It is amazing!!!!

We did them last year and have the net cage and bits, it was absolutely amazing to watch and not very expensive, once you have bought the kit you can by more caterpillars from the place for another go.

i was going to order one of theses .but yesterday all hell broke loose... mindee was in garden playing away, came in screaming took me a while to settle her when i asked her what the problem was she took me outside and started to point then scream some more .... It was a Ladybird.... so i picked it up to show her well more screams, so got a clear plastic pot put in ladybird and some grass in and just said that's its home now it wont hurt you... well she kept creeping and looking then came running in again screaming it had flown out the pot landed on grass:laughing:  ... so don't think its a good idea, but then again it might be oh not sure now...( her sister hates bugs any bugs especially dragonflies) what would you do do you think it might help her... no help for her sister shes 20 now:laughing:

Never used to then when I started going out with now dh he took to a butterfly house being dim I thought they would be behind glass ohhh no free flying around you  then one the size of my hand flew right in front of me totally shocked and freaked me out . Took 5seconds to get round the place  now I can't bear being near them .that was 12years ago. We had one in the place I used to work before becoming a cm and as soon as I heard someone say one was in the room I left until it had been taken out. People thought it was funny I didnt:panic:

I don't mind most insects, I even pick up BIG spiders  . But I do hate one creature and that is Maggots! :panic: :(
It all started when I was about 11yrs old and I collected some catterpilars from the garden to watch them hatch into butterflies, but all that came out were maggots.
They must have been attacked by that wasp or is it a fly, that lays its eggs in catterpilars.
YUKITY...YUCK...YUCK!
But I'm sure the ones from the kits are safe :)
