When I lived in Bedfordshire, they always lost 2-3 of the chicks in Pre-school, so sad

Thought you meant me there for a minute!

years ago my hubby's friend had a little old dog called Nicky (same name as me). He died and his mate left a message on dh's answerphone at work saying Tom, sad news Nicky died. His workmates picked up the message unable to believe that this news was left on the answerphone. They sat him down all sad faced to tell him.

When they told dh he didn't know whether to be sad about the dog or laugh because all his workmates thought it was me that had popped my clogs.:panic:

It really wasnt funny but I had a similar thing a few years ago, a very good friend of mine called J was ill and expected to die, but whilst at a mutual friends house she took a call from a lady called S who was really upset and said 'he's gone' we took this to mean that her husband had died. We were both really upset and shocked as he had caught legionnaires disease from the airconditioning whilst on holiday.

I left my friends a little while later to pop into town, but was really out of sorts so stopped off at another of a mutual friends on the way back home, to find the friend from earlier there saying 'really glad you popped in' the news this morning was not the man dying but the lady next door really upset because her cat had died, and she has the same name as the woman.

The really sad bit though, although we laughed about it was that the man really did die a few days later, but it certainly taught us to be careful.

RIP chickee.
