I've got a 14 month old and unsure what to do with planning! Fir the first few weeks I planned activities around his interests of animals so did a animal theme isthis right? I have read other threads saying just to use continous provision until they are two. What do you do? Also if you use c.p do you have a huge list somewhere and do you show it on your noticeboard? As I was showing my planning on there to show parents. Your help would be gratfully recueved!

You can use continuous provision to meet the child's needs... just show (mostly after the event) what the child wanted to play with and what you got out for him.

So this week the planning might say...

Xx's interests - farm animals; walking;

Xx's planning - we sang farm songs, made animal masks; went to the park and Xx walked all the way there!

Then you just need to link it to the 6 areas of L & D for his age and stage to show you are helping him to progress and think of some next steps...

Xx's next steps - plan a pink pig day... whatever you can think of that follows his interests.

Hth :D
