Bit late with the good luck vibes but hope all went okay. We have our new 9month old starting on thursday, he had his last settling in visit today.

well, mmmmmm! not sure how that went. Very reserved parents they seemed. Was quite hard to make conversation and talk to. I felt a bit uneasy from the moment i opened the door and never felt like that on any of my other visits. mmmm I dont know about this one.......
I was also the first childminder/nursery they have seen and they are keen to book their DD some where as soon as because they dont want her going to any 2nd choice if their first choice was full. It is not until November start.
I did my talking routine wrong aswell, started to talk about the eyfs at first and this isn't how i have gone about it before, i think it was because i felt a little un easy, i did soon over come it though and they soon relaxed too i suppose. We will just have to see.....

Hopefully it went better than you thought, I asked the parent of my new starter today if she had met with any other childminders before choosing us, was most surprised that she said they hadnt seen any others but knew of a few, both of whom I knew and she even knew of one of them quite well and I know this person has spaces so I was quite chuffed that we got this one!
