you need to do risk assessments for places you go, different areas in your setting (home) ie:

kitchen, garden, bathroom, playroom etc
park(s)
toddler group
school run
regular outings - library, childrens center

What needs to go in them:
you need to look at the individual children in your care and take note of their abilities.
you need to look at the area and think - (and this is basic)

kitchen:
hazard: kitchen cupboard under sink, storage of cleaning fluids - put cupboard catch on, talk to children about risk

garden:
high slide - risk of falling - supervise child xxx closely, teach about managing risk safely

risk assessment is not about eliminating all risk its about minimising the risks already there and teaching children about managing risk for them selves.

Think Sarah707 has some brilliant e-books re this subject.
