im looking after 3 boys on wed 1st time
1.when should i fill out my tax form online to register as self employed as it says dont do it in advance.?
2. do i have to inform ofsted of who i am looking after?

You must inform the IR within 3 months of starting work. You will get your first return to fill in next month.
You should tell Ofsted you are working so they can arrange to inspect you.

I rang hmrc up as soon as my certificate came through.
You class the day you register as a childminder as the first day of self employment regardless of whether you have mindees or not.You have 3 months from that date to register.This will also trigger the national insurance stamps to either be paid or you can choose to be exempt if your earnings are low.
