View Full Version : what in wear and tear
hi,
What I can add to tear and wear?
I dont have that much to add but we had boiler changed last year ... do you think I can add this 10% as a part of my boiler cost?

Its just 10% off your total income, you dont need to itemise it
so I can add anything I want?
do I need receipt? i have boiler one but Am I allowed to add boiler to expenses? .. I would base this on: I need heating or kids will freeze but not sure if HR will like it?

Wear and tear is purely 10% of your income. You cannot add items to it. It is a special agreement that childminders have with HMRC to cover wear and tear on house.
If your income, before expences are deducted, is £10,000 then you put £1,000 for wear and tear.
You cannot put any of your boiler through as you would have replaced it at some point anyway even if you were not childminding. I replaced mine too.

As per previous thread - just use your income as this was agreed between the Inland Revenue and NCMA that childminders could claim a flat 10%
As to your boiler - you cannot claim as it is a household item and how would your house run without it?
