Hi I am currently registering to become a childminder and I was just wondering how you decide how much you charge, I currently do not any childminders so can's ask them and do not know how much the currant rate in this area is, is there a way of finding this out. Thank you. Laura

If you go on your local cis website (childrens information service) you will be able to find a list of local chilmiders and what they charge.

Depending on where you are the most comon hourly rate seems to be between £3 and £4

hope that helps

As Lana & Teresa have said the best place to chek is your local CIS link.

The other option is to attend a local group and have a chat with the other minders and ask them what is the norm in the area.

Good luck

You can get lots of tips for how to lay out your CIS advert by having a browse around different ones... good luck! :D

Again CIS is the best place to start.
