My DS gave me this poem, about 5 years ago now, but I kept it and I've not seen it anywhere since, and it's so sweet. When he gave it to me he was about 6, and he decorated the outside border with guns, tanks, soldiers etc. His teacher asked him if I wouldn't have preferred flowers. He said 'no, she'll love this' and he was so right :-) Just wanted to share it with you, and if anyone can use it, feel free.

MY MUM

My mum’s one in a million,
I’m sure that you would agree.
I wouldn’t say that she’s perfect,
But she’s the best one for me.
Sometimes she can get grumpy,
And sometimes she gets upset,
But I still know that she loves me,
And that I’ll never forget!

Oh! This is a Mother’s Day song for you.
Mum, you’re ever so special and I’m
Going to find ways to say I love you too!

My mum’s ever so clever,
She may not have a degree,
But she can help with my homework,
And that’s what matters to me.
Sometimes she can be stressy,
Sometimes even she shouts!
But I still know that she loves me,
And that’s what certainly counts!

My mum’s really an angel,
She’s great at caring for me.
She does the cleaning and shopping,
And makes a wonderful tea!
Sometimes she is too busy,
Sometimes she is worn out,
But I still know that she loves me,
And that’s what this is about!

My mum’s one in a million,
I’m sure that you would agree,
I wouldn’t say that she’s perfect,
But she’s the best one for me.

I really really like that! So apt for our mindee's mums who probably do feel guilty about having to work so hard and stuff.

Gonna nick that for our craft activity later!

I've used this one;

I miss you when we're not together
I'm growing up so fast
See how big I've gotten
Since you saw me last?

As I grow, I'll change a lot,
The years will fly right by.
You'll wonder how I grew so quick
When and where and why?

So save this card in a safe place,
And take it out each year.
The memories will come back of me,
When I was small and dear.

True to my word, I have completely stolen this poem! The playroom table is set up with six copies of it printed out in fancy font with a nice border round it. Love heart stickers and felt tip pens in middle of table. And I even printed out the mum's profile pics from Facebook to stick on the top!!! hahahaha!! Well, four of them that I am friends with anyway!

Thanks for that! I was gonna make flowers in pots, but I like this so much better! I made one and laminated it to show them how it can look when it's done and it does look really nice!
