I used to use the inner potty on a chair potty but I've give that away and I'm now stuck what I am going to use, I have a normal potty, do you just use a pot specific for sick

sorry

Not to be confused with the black bucket that is used to clean the fish tank

Always have used an empty ice cream tub, with a small amount of dettol in the bottom (not good with vomit smells, so the dettol helps me be a better nurse  ) We started this years ago whilst travellling with my son and nephews up and down to Scotland. The lid comes in handy too if/ when its been used to keep smells and mess to a minimum

Oh god my worst nightmare, luckily haven't had to think about it. So far the kids have been sick at home and I have thanked them on their return. I have an old bowl that I use for my own children. I agree with the others who said the telephone though! :panic:

As my DS is often travel sick, we use the ice cream tub....we have several in the car. I collected a mindie from school a while back, he is 9 but he looked rather green, so rang mum and kept him apart from the other mindies. He went home clasping my Ds's plastic waste paper bin and his mum bought it back nice bleached :)

If given enough warning(!!) we use an old washing up bowl with dettol and a drop of water in but without warning it's been towel, cushion and often , hands(!! ) and my lap!!

I use carrier bags or nappy sacks. Keep a few in the car aswell as son isnt a very good traveller.

Luckily ive only had 1 mindee throw up whilst in my care and he was just a baby at the time

:panic: the last time was my new shoe box near the door, as one 3 yr old mindee was sick just as we were leaving for school run.
Luckily only her spare shoes were in there.

But i just keep an old bucket under the stair cupboard with a sticker on it saying "BARF BUCKET" only......older mindees & my 2 DD's wording

Thats one downside to wearing trousers!!
If we were like old style nannies we could catch it all in our frilly pinnies!!

On a first-aid course we were told about some crystals you could put on vomit or in the bottom of a bucket to absorb the fluid and smell it turned into a gel that was easier to clean up but I can't remember what it was called. Anyone know or where I can get it?

dont laugh....when i was a student nurse we wore the old fashioned dress uniform (in white...lovely view of your knickers if they were not white) and once this old lad upchucked over me and i managed to catch it in my dress...not a drop on the floor. Sister was pleased!

oh...we have "the bucket" .....its green and lives next to the washing machine in the utility.

I use an old bucket, but I've seen the school's barf bucket and it is a cracker tin with a plastic bag inside. See it three times now, what with my girls being sent home it seems every week :(

anything to hand that doesn't have holes in and preferably not a wicker bin basket, nor a mug lol

we have a washing up bowl that is specific for the job if it can be caught in time. (the washing up bowl is separate to anything else and is one of the most important pieces of equipment in my arsenal of germ warfare - along with disinfectant).

(the wicker bin basket comes from when a friend stayed round my house when we were teens - she was sick first into a mug - quickly realising this doesn't hold much then proceeded to puke into the wicker bin basket - which leaked - gross)

I use a big black bowl bought from Asda orginally for putting sweets in for halloween. It's nice and deep to contain any splashing!
