how about activities linking to a story - we have done sleep tight little bear , and from the story gone on to make inside and outside dens , and the children think about what they would need to put in their new 'home' , what they can find to represent the items etc. great for creative and kuw - and of course cll! we finished it all off by writing our own poem about the bear cave as the week ended on national poetry day.
the bear cave
Its got leaves in,
and conkers and sticks,
it feels very soft,
its a bit dark.
Its a bit hot and a bit not hot.
We like our bear cave.
We like our books in the bear cave,
and we sing songs.
A great cave!
