Well done DDC.

Wait till mindee comes on thier own. Then you'll be pooping yourself :D

You still need to do contracts etc for your settling ins, otherwise you won't be insured.

Well done again, and Kerrie, do you think you could do a follow up with the paper ?????

Thank you everyone dont know what id do without this forum :)

Ok a little bit more detail, sorry i ahd to type and run earlier but I couldnt go without telling you since you have all been soooooo supportive.

Ok before she came I really was soooo nervous, the wife said i was acting drunk, i was hyper one minute and then down the next it was weird. As it got closer to 11 i thoguht i was gonig to throw up. dotn know why i work myself up so much, she sounded lovelyon the phone and at the end of the day all she could was trun me down.

Anyway the clock struck 11, I couldnt stop looking out of the window, everytime i heard a car I was there checking to see if it was her. By 11.03 I had convinced myself that she wasnt comming, by 11.06 I was ready to cry, at 11.08 she turned up lol.

She was very appologetic for being a little late, and soon as she netered the room I felt at ease. Her lil un just kept on smiling and laughing at me, she said it was weird becsue normaly he is a bit weary with men to start of with. I told her all children seemed to like me instantly.

She stayed for about an hour, talked about lots of things, some not related to childminding to me it felt like i was talking to a friend. She had lots of questions to ask, which i think I answered well. She said she drives past my house everyday on the way to work so im ideally situated.

Were having three settling in session this week, starting tomorrow, just an hour tomorrow and build it up bit by bit.

She seemed to be impressed with all my policies, and i tihnk she was happy with the price.

I just cant believe how well it went (well at least how well I think it went) still it wont make me any more confident for the next one lol.

Ok some more news......

I may have another mindee to sign up, it is a friends child and i know this can be a bad thing looking after friends children and mantaining your proffesionalism (sp) but im confident i can do this. Its weekend work which aint ideal, but i did say id work them as i know theres not many that do in my area. Just gotta wait for his gf to have her shifts confirmed.

Anddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddd

On friday I have a meeting with a local nursery. A friend suggested doing voluntary work at a nursery to get my face known and to gain expereince working with other children. So I got in touch with a local private nursery and have a meeting with the owner on friday. Id asked to do 1 day a week voluntary work.

Sooooo things may be getting busier pretty soon.

I keep on saying it but thank you to you all, joining this forum is one of the best decisions ive ever made

Love gareth
xx

Just wanted to say I work for friends (2 actually) think Im lucky as it has worked. They dont take me for granted as they know its my business. The children know me and they are happy that their children are with someone they know. I know sometimes it doesnt work but only you know if it will I decided in my case it would and it did.

Well done again:jump for joy: :jump for joy:

Gareth, that all sounds fabulous!! :clapping:

Also I know alot of CMs recommend not working for a friend and yes I am not naive to think it will never happen to me BUT I work for two friends and in the beginning it felt weird talking about money or sticking to your guns about holiday, etc. but I always remained professional when we were discussing childminding issues, kept the same routines i.e. contracts, permissions, holiday notice, etc. and it is working great . . . the trick is not to be taken for granted!! . . . it can work!!!

Go get em mate!!!
