Snow white and the 7 dwarfs, the dwarfs represent feelings
sleepy, bashful etc
You could read the book, look in a magic mirror and do some paper plate faces showing different emotions or take pictures of the children doing different expressions :)

make an emotions book with photos of the children...so a happy face then underneath ..i am happy when , or blah makes me angry , scared , sad , excited , etc.
or a feeling story ... x was feeling sad. (pic). so y tried to ....... he was still sad. so z tried to .......... that made x laugh. everyone laughed. they are all Happy!!

We did this last year during my Ofsted inspection. It worked very well and the children really enjoyed it (2.5yr old & 3.5yr old).

We started by looking in mirrors and making different faces. We talked about what would make you happy/sad/angry/frightened etc. We also talked about if you saw someone who was sad what you could do to make them feel better.

We had cut out face shapes & coloured different faces on them. On the front we put a sad face & on the back a happy face, or angry face on the front/happy on the back etc. The children drew the faces as they wanted, so they didn't look that accurate, but they knew what they'd drawn! We stuck the faces to lolly sticks. We then acted out little scenarios, eg. they were tired (so held up their sad faces), went for a sleep (hid their faces under the table), then felt better when they got up (showed their smiley faces). Or, they were angry that someone had taken a toy (angry face), told me about it & I sorted it out, then they were happy again (smiley face).

I hadn't actually planned for the scenario bit to happen, it just followed on from what we'd been doing/talking about.

I made a matching game from Thomas the tank engine pics. I got them from this website www.myfavoritetoys.com/autism_thomas.php_10k
if that does not work I searched thomas the tank engine emotions and its the first one on my search

Anyway there is an interesting bit about autism and the many faces of thomas. I printed 2 lots of the pics out and made a board with one lot and pics to match and laminated them, went down a storm and great for thomas lovers
