hi just wanted to let you know i have just bought a polaroid pogo i think these could be great for childminders it is a photo printer what you do is send your image from your digital camera or your bluetooth phone and prints out immediately and there is no ink used, so you could probably do your observations and do the photo at the same time and that is job done, if you are like me i dont seem to get the photos done very quick and get behind, and also which is good the photos are a bit smaller and the back comes of the picture so you can stick it down sounds great dont you think. The only downside is i think the paper can be expensive but you could probably shop around and the pogo is about £25 cant wait for it to come so i can have a play.

It's a small world

I am going to be investing in one of these too, I think.

One of the ladies that runs one of the local toddler groups is bringing hers along on Tuesday. She has some 2010 calendars she hasnt used up so we are going to print off pictures of the kids and add them to the calendars. I will see how hers come out!

is there any reason why you cant use normal printer paper other than the photos wouldnt be quite such good quality?

You pre load all the paper into the printer, you wouldn't be able to use normal paper.
The quality of the prints is ok, its a bit grainy but good enough for learning journeys/diarys.
I don't use mine much but boots were selling packs of the paper for £5.99 for the large pack, not sure if they still are.
The best thing about it is you can charge it up and connect your camera or bluetooth the picture while out and about, we used it once for making an album of a trip through the woods.
I paid £17.99 and don't think its worth much more, they are bringing out a new model with the camera attached so you take the photo and can print straight out without cables.

Crikey just found the new one its not quite in my price range!!! but looks good

I got one a Xmas and its fab, so easy to use and the kids love using my phone to take pictures and then printing them off.

Ebay is the best place to get the paper. We managed to get 3 packs for £10 including postage
