yep ebay although some are quite expensive......I am doing 'The hungry Caterpillar ' got lovely sack with picture on it (ebay)and I am in process of making it up. I have just copied pictures so far and will laminate and put on lolly sticks, eventually will get soft toy, plastic fruit etc. I think they are a lovely way to bring a story to life as you can get the children to really get involved.cx

They are really really expensive. I make mine but look at ready made ones for ideas. I buy things from boot fairs, charity shops ask parents, friends etc for stuff I need. You can make a basic book & storry props bag then add to it as you find stuff. Brillminder can make you bags with pictures on:thumbsup:

Goldilocks & the 3 bears is a simple one. yellow haired doll, 3 different sized bears, 3 different sized bowls & spoons. You can use different sized pictures of chairs & beds. Then you can have some porridge oats, a porridge recipe a book about cooking or bears or similar when you get them. Colouring & free printables can be added as & when:D .

my own favourite children's book is dear zoo and we made a story sack for that
you only really need the different animals that feature and we printed the words to the book too so for each animal there is a sentance to go with it
we also made dominoes and animal matching cards with the same animals

You could do a mixed rhyme sack and put one thing in to mean each rhyme & then get the children to draw one out each:D

Eg spider (incey wincey, black sheep, lamb (mary had a little lamb)

You will end up addicted to them:D

my daughter is in the middle of making a story sack for her childcare course. she is using an old pillowcase to which she ha sewn on the front the name of the story - the hungry caterpillar. she is making the caterpillars and food out of felt and fur. she's going to test out on my mindees when finished. she has found some of the material around the house and old clothes which she has cut up. she has to take into school in march i think maybe may so that the renowned neil griffiths can see them and give them other ideas. i have been invited in also with some of my mindees should be a good morning. good luck with yours.
