I was just going to go with charging everything at the hour....to make it easier to work out.

Guess you also need to work out whether you will be including food on top of your fee's or if it is included in your fee.

So much to think about!!

I haven't really thought about fee's at the moment.

When my 2 went to their CM she worked like this:

£5.25ph per child incl lunch, dinner, snack etc.

20% discount for FULL TIME

20% discount for SIBLING.

Everything else was charged at the normal hourly rate.

She did used to take unpaid leave for her hols....but as of last sept, she changed it so she gets 20 days paid holiday per year.

I charge £3.50 per hour, and extra for meals e.g £1.50 per day for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Ring around your area letting on your a parent and check out the prices, as every area is different. It will give you a good idea of wat to charge

I actually use 2 cm's at the mo due to work

1 charges £3.75 per hour all the time reduction for siblings (inc food )

and the other charges £3 full time £4 part time + £1 per meal per day or you can take child a pack lunch.

I think you just need to do whatever works best for you.

A lady i used to work with said that she knew a CM who charged in a similar way to a nursery....she charged a price for a morning session, and a price for an afternoon session.

I have used 2 childminders one charged £4ph which we had to pay when she was on hols etc only if she was ill then we didint pay she also did not offer term time only. so we paid our 4 hours all through school hols even when we didint use her service

2nd childminder worked term time only for us it was £3.50 an hour inc food
we did not pay when she was on holiday.

So everyone has different charges- I think there are pros and cons to every choice.
Per hour- means if they stay longerv than their contracted hours you can charge etc
Sessions- means that if they use les time then they still pay a standard fee regardless

Im thinking of charging 3.50ph but Im not providing food only snacks. I might even charge 4ph then use the extra to cover me for 4 weeks hols as everyone is entitled to 4 weeks paid hol per year.

To be honest you have to go with the general trend in your area to keep up with your competition
