- Okay, need some advice please. Just had a phone call from Blue Fin (insurance company via NCMA) and price is still high. Anyone out there got any suggestions for an insurer that will cover childminders including accidental damage? Any help appreciated. Thanks. Carol x

We use direct line and can never get our quote any cheaper anywhere else :) :)

We're with the co-op who I found fantastic. They don't charge extra if you are a childminder (I bought my insurance sept (?) 2009) and I'm covered for accidential damage - think was about £300 but I hadn't had any previous no claims

(think that's right!! - sorry if I'm getting it slightly wrong with how much it was but def was co-op and def was fine about childminding / cover for accidential damage)

i'm either with direct line or tesco ( can't remember!) but i know they were fine with me being a childminder, and it wasn't any more or much more expensive! (DH deals with all that stuff  )

Churchill & direct line can both be done on line and both say that childminders are covered (phrase is something like - no business is runfrom the premises except childminding or clerical.)

Do it on line & you get discounts - mine was very reasonable:)

Liverpool Victoria - around £350 buildings and contents. i've made two claims and premiums have hardly gone up and no restrictions on minding numbers or accidental damage either.

I have mine with Halifax.

Its combined contents and buildings and is £28 per month for both.
We also have a cover in that that includes 24 hour call out for emergencies.

(we are in a low crime area, so not sure if that keeps the contents down?)

They also know I'm a childminder.

Can't believe it. I rang original insurance company to say I didn't want their expensive cover and they have agreed to match the cheapest quote if I stay with them! So I haven't to change company but still save over £150. Thanks for your suggestions though as I wouldn't have known where to go for other quotes. Carolx:clapping: :clapping:
