I have a little girl who really struggles with learning her multiplication tables. At present she is on the 6's. Does anyone have good tips on how to get her more confident and able to learn them easily? Does anyone have any good software programmes perhaps I could download/purchase? I have tried the usual stuff - getting her to recite them off, putting them on little cards and into a box, writing down etc but nothing seems to work at present. The last test before Christmas was on the 3,4 and 5's and she had to resit her test twice before allowed to move onto the 6's. Any help appreciated.

We used to say them in a sing song voice... and that's how I taught my children.

Repetition, repetition and repetition, every day.

It gets really boring but it's the best way of making them stick :D

We did the same

Also we just used to learn the first half of the table first up to 6 x 6 until the child knew it off by heart - Then continue till they got to 12

We just repeated every day a few times over and over and over again

Some ideas here also
