you only get one, some childminders won't even have one if they were registered pre-Ofsted. I have a few one for childminding, scouts, school helper, local nursery so I always seem to have an up to date one, I can't wait for the vetting and barring scheme.

I am sure I was told on my original registration check that Ofsted are informed if we do get something on our police record that they should know about. I may be wrong as it was some years ago, so our CRB are ongoing

We must inform Ofsted if anything happens that might affect our CRBs... and they will decide if they want to do a new CRB because of that.

Police will inform Ofsted if something happens they think they need to know about... a person in our home committing an offence / domestic violence / violence against children etc.

We do not get updated CRBs unless there is a need.

Like Beccas says the new vetting and barring will come in over the next few years until then unless something changes your current CRB is all that is needed.

hth :D
