Hiya. I'm introducing one letter a week, and this letter is B (well, I've only just started back after Christmas LOL). Anyway, I'm going to have a little display area and help the kiddlies find things that begin with B to put on there. I was just wondering if any of you had any fab ideas what else I can do. We've been singing the Alphabet Song too. They are both 3 and a half year old boys.

When you do the school run ask them to point out any things that start with your letter. Then when you get home you can write the total down.:)

I have plates with letter of the week, colour of the week, number of the week and shape of the week. I write it on the board and try and get parents to join in and bring things from home:rolleyes: we cut out the letter and find things that begin with that letter and stick them on etc. We also do letter tracing etc! hth

The alphabet is my planning too, once we back to normal with the weather as my mindees have not been coming or just arriving for an hr or two!

Anyway for the B I was going to look at the beach, sand play, add water to sand, make a beach bottle (small plastic bottle add some sand, water and shells shake it and watch it all settle again like a wave washing over the beach!). I have made print outs of each letter in upper and lower case and cut and pasted lots of pictures onto a sheet that begin with the letter b - ball, bat, banana, etc.. every day things and try to add some unusual or multi cultural things too.

I hope I have not rabbited on too much and it helps just a little!!:thumbsup:

Oh yes there was a thread on here were someone posted a web site that gives activity ideas for the alphabet so have a good root around.

Do you still have snow? You could use sticks to mark the letter out in the snow or do it with little stones in the snow.

Make bread dough, roll long sausage shapes and mould them into letter 'b's to bake for lunch/snacks. This would work with gingerbread dough too.
