hi all

was just wondering about observations how many are ya supposed to do for each a child and how often! at the moment i do one for each child every month but not sure this is ok??

have alot of children on my books and have to find to fit it all in so ust want a rough guide on how many to do etc??

anyone with suggestions who can help would be very appreciative

there are no rules for how many observations you do for each child - it depends on the child, how often he comes and the things you see and hear happening.

some children will produce more paperwork than others :D

I have lots more for my younger mindee than the 3 year old as he seems to be progressing so much faster. there is regularly something new to note. In 4 months i probably have 15 for him , and about 7 for her. I just try to show progression as this is what ( i think) mrs O will want to see - so at 17 months they just seem to progress very quickly! They arent always detailed though - a few words on a post it note in cases.
