Hello to all and Seasons Greetings :)

I am just throwing together the last of my planning sheets for the Christmas period and I am stuck for general ideas under the heading 'Physical Development'
So far I have come up with threading/lacing and wrapping up pretend presents, use of scissors in crafts but these mainly fall under fine motor and wanted help with gross motor.

Any ideas????

Thanks xx

I've got dancing to Christmas music:)
We made Reindeer masks and I got the children to pretend to be Rudolf walking on all fours.
Another idea could be moving around like snowflakes.

Hope that helps and MERRY CHRISTMAS XXX

Have a snowball fight, with either scrunched up paper or rolled up socks :)
Your routines will offer some physical development opportunity as the kids practise putting on their gloves and hats and welly boots.
We are wrapping boxes/presents at the moment, which does include fine motor skills - but if you have ever watched a child wrap a present you'll know it uses their entire bodies lol.
Their are loads of snowman/winter/christmas songs with actions too. If you don't know any then just google it and you will get plenty.

What about the dancing, singing, climbing at the parties?

Physical Development can also be covered by the fine motor skills of cutting, gluing, painting etc...
