I can't wait for 5.30 on the 17th, as I am closed for business until Jan 4th:jump for joy: I have been minding for a few months now and am ready for a break, not from LOs, but other aspects of minding.

I wondered, as I am a relative newbie, how many of you take leave over Christmas?

I will prob be working up to last min on Christmas Eve, think parents keep them out the house as long as they can so they can get on with preparations!

Then after that its whoever is coming and when! Think most parents are off work but if they are paying then bet they will be bringing them, well most of them will anyway! Its not a holiday i am booking off so am grateful for any kid free days i can get.

Im working over Christmas but only a few days. I don't know which days yet though, as parents don't think its important to share this information with me I have made plans on some of the days so they can't bring them those days now.

We finish on the 18th for two weeks, like everyone else can't wait. We have not had a break this year as everytime we were due to be off I was given a date for my operation only to have it cancelled the day before it was due. Now that is out of the way we intend to enjoy the time and our own children.

Love

I too finish on the 23rd and start back on the 4th. (schools not back til 5th though!)

I couldnt work inbetween as we are a wide spread family!

Going over to Blackburn on C'mas day, back Boxing day, then Dad coming from Oxford and sister coming from Scotland for 2 nights! Friends staying New years eve too! Phew! :panic:

Not sure I'll have much of a rest! - hence why I cant fit work in and take unpaid leave!

I finish on the 15th and am back on the 4th :clapping: Nearly 3 weeks. :)

Mainly due to only having only 1 mindee and he is term time only. I don't really need a break, just more work (which will be picking up in Jan and Feb as 3 new mindees starting :) )

I will enjoy our first Christmas in my DH old family home and raise a glass or three to our parents, 3 of whom are no longer with us :(
